The Fish
Melrakkaslétta has a natural stock of brown trout and arctic char. Most fish are 1-3 pounds, and some bigger. The lakes have creeks and small rivers between them and finally a river running to the sea. Sometimes sea-run fish go all the way up to the lakes.
On the Langanes peninsula we fish for sea-run arctic char, sea trout and brown trout. The fish are mostly 1-4 pounds and some up to 7 pounds.
On the way to the airport for the flight to Reykjavík, we will stop at lake Skjálftavatn and the river Litlaá. There are double figure fish in both river and lake. In the summer of 2014 a char of 20 pounds was landed.
If you want to add salmon fishing to your adventure we could book some days on the river Mýrakvísl close by to Húsavík or on our local salmon river Deildará.
We are solely fly-fishing and we stick to the method of catch and release.

Our Tours
On this website there are three kinds of tours; two are easier, staying the nights in the hotel or guesthouse and the other with more walking and a night in a tent. One of them is little bit cheaper. If none of these three tours offered suits you, we would be happy to tailor make an alternative if you send us your preferences.
The Way to travel
On the website we include a flight to the northeast of Iceland for the fishing and back again to Reykjavík.
If you prefer to travel on your own to the northeast we would change our prices accordingly.
