Tour Description

Day 1

Flight to the North and River Lónsá
Morningflight to Húsavík. A drive to Langanes (3 hrs). In the afternoon and evening fishing on the Lónsá river.
Two nights at Ytra Lón farm hostel. Studio apartments. 2 course dinners.

Day 2

River Lónsá
Fishing in the Lónsá river close by YtraLón farm hostel. We have the choice, fishing in the estuary of the river up mountain. Here we can fish up to 7 pound sea going arctic char, sea trout and brown trout.

Day 3

River Lónsá.
The third day in the river Lónsá.
At the end of the day we drive to village Raufarhöfn (1 hr) for a night in Hotel Norðurljós.
2 course dinner on the way.

Day 4

The “Plain of the Fox”, Melrakkaslétta area
A drive into the wilderness to our camp at the lakes Rifsæðarvötn (2 hrs). That day we fish in the brook from Rifsæðarvötn towards north, through the lakes Skálavötn, Hvannabrekkuvatn, Selvatn and the creeks and brooks between them and finally back south towards lake Ólafsvatn. Hiking back to the camp (1 hr.) One night in a Mongolian Yurt or a private tent if you prefer. We offer duvets but some prefer their own sleeping bag. 2 course dinner.

Day 5

Into the farthest North
We start the same way as day before, fishing from Rifsæðarvötn through Skálavötn, Selvatn, Hvannabrekkuvatn, in the river Hraunhafnará ending at Hraunhafnarvatn lake. (10 km). From there we will drive to Hótel Norðurljós where we will stay for 3 nights.
3 course dinners.

Day 6

South of lake Ytra-Deildarvatn
We fish in the creeks that flow into the lake Ytra-Deildarvatn.

Day 7

South of lake Ytra-Deildarvatn
We are still enjoying the waters flowing into lake Ytra-Deildarvatn.

Day 8

Lake Skjálftavatn and river Litlaá. Return to Reykjavík
We drive from Raufarhöfn towards Húsavík. Before we get there we spend half the day at lake Skjálftavatn, where we have a chance of catching double figure trout and char.
